Rose Tyler, v.Crazy
Character: Rose Marion Tyler (Call her Rosie, you die) Age: 23 Gender: Female Species: Human Occupation: Head of Torchwood/Troublemaker in general Status: Completely insane
Into Time and SPACE (Basic Background)
A post on how I play Rose Tyler, Torchwood, relationships, and her insanity can be found here. And more on her psychology is here. When Rose was 6 months old, her father died, leaving her to be raised by her mother. When he was in secondary school, she convinced the choir to go on strike, and was suspended. She dropped out of school at the age of 16 and left home, to live with her then-boyfriend, Jimmy Stone. Jimmy Stone eventually left her, and she had to return to her mother, hundreds of pounds in debt. Her mother took her back, and found her a job working in a shop, and she also began to date Mickey. She met the Doctor (9th) when working in the shop--he helped her escape when the autons were running around, before blowing the shop up. Rose, after helping him defeat the autons (and save Earth), turned down his first offer of companionship, accepting after he asked the second time. The first place he took her was the year 1 billion, to see the Earth burn--she almost died, but agreed to stay with him (and took him out for chips). They met Charles Dickens in Cardiff in their next adventure, and eventually, she returned home, supposedly after 12 hours, only to find out that the Doctor had gotten it wrong, and she had been missing for 12 months. Of course, when she came home, Earth was dealing with another alien problem, and Rose and the Doctor ended up locked in Downing Street with a few aliens, eventually locking themselves in a closet so they wouldn't die in the explosion that killed the invading Slitheen. Then, when going to the future, Rose accidentally regenerated a Dalek, visited the future and helped the Doctor with the Jagrafess, and almost destroyed the world when she saved her father from dying. She and the Doctor went to the London Blitz, and met Captain Jack Harkness, who had orignally planned to con them (he first saw Rose hanging from a barrage balloon in the middle of an air raid, and saved her while she was falling, then charmed her with dancing on top of an invisible spaceship). Now traveling with Jack, Rose and the Doctor went back to Cardiff and met Mickey, and, while Rose and Mickey were dealing with their relationship problems, they also had to deal with another alien. After that, Rose, Jack, and the Doctor, after visiting Tokyo, were abducted by an unknown (at that time) force, and stuck into game shows, with Rose in the Weakest Link. She was, apparently, killed by the Anne-Droid, but later discovered by Jack and the Doctor to be alive and captive by the Dalek fleet. Jack and the Doctor rescued her, and, back on the game station, started to plan how they were going to save the world. Eventually, the Doctor tricked Rose into the TARDIS, and sent her back to her own time, and, frustrated, Rose began to look for a way back. When she saw the words Bad Wolf in big letters, she realized that Bad Wolf was a message to her, to get her back to the Doctor. With the help of her mum and Mickey, she managed to open up the console, and absorb the time vortex, getting her back to save the Doctor, and evaporate the Dalek fleet. She also brought a now dead Jack back to life, making him immortal. The Doctor took the time vortex out of her (with a kiss ), which caused him to regenerate. Originally having some issues with the Doctor's new body (he was in a coma, leaving Rose to defend the earth against the sycorax all on her own), after he thwarted the sycorax invasion, Rose eventually accepted him, happy to go on adventures with him again. They went to New Earth, where she was possessed by Cassandra, met a werewolf, and Rose met one of the Doctor's fomer companions, Sarah Jane Smith (and initially had issues with this, too, before coming to her senses and being perfectly fine with it). Then, now with Mickey in tow, they met Madame de Pompadour, and accidentally made it into another dimension. In the other dimension, Rose found that her father was still alive, and a millionaire, however, she and the Doctor had to deal with the cybermen problem before they could do anything else, and, after they took care of that (got rid of the cyberman leader and shut down production), and were on their way out, Mickey decided to stay behind, leaving Rose more than a little bit sad. Rose and the Doctor then went to see Elvis, but somehow ended up in 1950's London, where people were losing their faces. When Rose figured out why, she lost HER face, later to be rescued by the Doctor. Then, traveling to the future, Rose and the Doctor made it to a planet that was under a black hole, lost the TARDIS, and fought against the devil, both almost dying in the process (with Rose easily taking charge of the situation). She had to be knocked out and forced onto the Rocket in the end to leave the Doctor, but the Doctor managed to make it out alive, and the two were reunited again. Rose lost the Doctor again, when they went to the 2012 Olympics, and discovered children (and animals) going missing, and ending up in drawings. The Doctor ended up in a drawing, but Rose saved the day in the end, sending the alien off and getting the Doctor back. However, they weren't back together for long--Rose and the Doctor returned home, only to find that ghosts were all over the place, and, tracing the ghosts back to Torchwood, were immediately drawn into a war--the ghosts turned out to be cybermen, and Torchwood had been ripping a hole in the universe, a hole that had started when a void ship, with Daleks in it, came through. Trying to find a way to get rid of the Daleks and the Cybermen, the Doctor first sent Rose away, to the alternate reality (Mickey and her alternate dad had come through), but Rose came back (again), and the two of them got to work in the process, opening the void and effectively sending the Daleks and Cybermen into it. The lever on Rose's side began to go offline, though, ruining their plan, and Rose, while trying to put it back into place, was almost sucked into the void herself--until her alternate father appeared and saved her just in time. Rose and the Doctor were now seperated, permanently, since the dimensions were closed for good again. The Doctor managed to find a little crack, big enough to send an image of himself through, so they could say their final goodbyes. Rose revealed that she was now working for Torchwood, and told the Doctor that she loved him. The Doctor was cut off before he could reply, only saying Rose Tyler, I-- and Rose was left on the beach, crying. And then, well...she went crazy. (I'll add is s4 info when I stop being lazy someday) |
Ten things about Rose Tyler that you never knew
1) Rose has three tattoos: a small chain of flowers on her right foot that her boyfriend Jimmy Stone got her for her 17th Birthday; A small star on the inside of her left wrist that she got post-Doomsday; and a small bird on her right shoulder that she got post Journey’s end. 2) She hates sleeping alone, and even goes as far as letting Rose the dog, who she really doesn’t like, into her room at night. And she's a little scared of the dark. Oops. 3) She hates doctors—the medical kind. She’s actually kind of scared of them. 4) She wears reading glasses! This is actually 5) She was engaged to Jimmy Stone, and she moved in with him at the age of 16. 6) Rose was a punky girl, complete with funky colored hair (which she only had after she moved out). 7) Mickey dropped Rose on her head once, when she was a baby. And he never told Jackie—she just thinks Rose fell. 8) She named every cat she had as a kid after food. Pickles was her favorite. 9) When Rose was five, she literally ran into Jack on the way home from school, and talked to him. Before she went home, she gave him a picture she finger painted in school that day. And she doesn’t remember any of this. 10) She speaks English, French, Spanish, some Russian, some Chinese, and some Arabic. She learned them all for Torchwood, because translators are for the weak, apparently.
